Student input played an important role in shaping this week’s activities. As we prepare for this busy testing season, we are balancing strong instructional expectations with opportunities that help students de-stress, stay engaged, and feel celebrated.
🎉 Student Celebrations & Engagement
Battle of the Classes 📣
📍 Tomorrow (Tuesday) during 9th period in the gym — a fun, school-wide stress reliever for our students.Attendance Celebration – Friday 🍽️
During 7th period, students will enjoy 492 BBQ as part of our attendance celebration.Our next Good Life Celebration will focus on celebrating PROGRESS—growth matters, and every step forward counts.

5 instructional days until the TELPAS testing window opens
32 instructional days until STAAR testing begins
51 instructional days until AP testing begins

📚 Campus Instructional Focus
Our campus strategy remains:
THINK – WRITE – PAIR – SHARE,
using academic language and the ELA ACE strategy to support student responses across all content areas.
📅 Tuesday Schedule Highlights
Due to the English benchmark (Periods 1–6), the afternoon schedule will be used for the following:
Grade-level attendance recognition during 7th period
Completion of the fire drill and lockout drill during 8th period
Battle of the Classes during 9th period for student stress relief
📌 Monitoring duties for 9th period will be communicated by department administrators.
👏 Staff Shout-Outs
Ms. Silva & Ms. Garza effectively used sentence stems to strengthen student writing, while Mr. Manzetti embedded open-ended questions into a Pear Deck lesson using Think-Write-Pair-Share.
🎯 Math Department win: MATHia practice participation increased from 81% to 96%, surpassing the 90% goal—excellent teamwork and follow-through!
Mrs. Vianey Chapa & Mr. Daniel Garza stepped in quickly to support additional students when a substitute was unavailable, ensuring students remained safe and engaged. Thank you for your flexibility and leadership.
A huge thank you to the staff supporting Online Enrollment for the 2027 school year, enrolling over 1,600 students:
Erika Salinas, Jose Ramos, Maribel Cavazos, Gloria Garcia, Jose Regalado, Veronica Chapa, Juan Martinez, Jose Zapata, Estella Rodriguez, Jennifer Garza, Carlos Garza, and Martha Portillo.
🎶🏆 Fine Arts & Athletics Highlights
Our Fine Arts and Athletic Departments continue to shine:
Three wrestling students advancing to state competition
Band students attended the Valley Symphony Orchestra, hosted competition on Saturday
Conjunto, Mariachi, and Folklórico delivered an outstanding performance this weekend
These experiences are possible because of the dedication, time, and heart our staff pours into students every day.
Thank you for your preparation, commitment, and the daily work you do to create meaningful opportunities for our students. Together, we continue building a culture of excellence, growth, and pride.
