The JLHS JROTC “Husky Battalion” proudly announces the selection of Cadet Bianca Gonzalez as the “Cadet of the Month” for October. She competed against 7 other cadets from throughout the battalion before a board of senior cadet leadership. The monthly competition requires selected cadets to go before a formal board to answer questions pertaining to ranks, archery, marksmanship, drill and ceremony, chain of command and leadership. According to the board president, Cadet Gonzalez performed exceptionally well during the board competition, mastering all areas of cadet knowledge. Her selection now puts her in contention for “Cadet of the Year” awarded at the end of the school year.
