principal, student posing with drill team in uniform

For the first time in Juarez-Lincoln High School history one of our very own Huskies has been featured on KRGV’s Student of the Week! Senior Angel Guerra applied for the prestigious honor and scholarship by submitting a resume, a one minute video and an essay discussing a challenge he faced in his life. He is characterized as being well-rounded through his leadership skills, community service, academic achievement and athletic endeavors.

According to his counselor, Angel experienced struggles in his elementary and middle school years, including being labeled as a bad student, which led to low self esteem, but once he transferred to Juarez-Lincoln High School he was able to blossom. His mother said that all he needed was to know that “people believed in him…”.  His teachers encouraged him and showed him that he was capable of great things. He is now currently ranked #1 in his class, and is anticipated to be the JLHS 2024 Valedictorian.
