JROTC Awards Ceremony

The JLHS JROTC “Husky Battalion” held their annual Awards Ceremony on May 1st at the Juarez Lincoln High School Cafeteria. This ceremony recognizes cadet achievements throughout the school year. The program awarded 24 individual awards to deserving cadets. Each individual award is sponsored by a veteran’s auxiliary group and recognizes traits to include leadership, service, patriotism, dependability, and character. Other accolades recognized during the ceremony included the Company of the Year and Cadet of the year. Those honors went Delta Company winning for the second consecutive year and Cadet Maria Rodriguez winning the coveted Cadet of the Year title. The ceremony concluded with the Senior Army Instructor administering the Oath of Enlistment to Cadet John Barrientos and Cadet Abimelec Morales into the United States Army. A total of 4 cadets from this years Husky Battalion enlisted into the Army following their graduation from JLHS. American Legion Post 93 awarded two $500 scholarship to Cadet Maria Rodriguez and Cadet Brenda Torrez to attend the university of their choice.
